United Development Company (UDC), one of Qatar’s major publicly traded shareholding companies, has appointed Engineer Badr Al-Meer
as its acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The appointment by the Board of Directors will see Al-Meer serve under the leadership of the Executive Committee of the UDC Board. He will succeed Mr. Ebrahim
M. Al-Sulaiti, whose duties as Chief Executive Officer ended on Sunday, November 24.
With a degree in Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Denver, Al- Meer
brings to the role a wealth of technical and business experience.
Till his appointment as UDC’s acting CEO, Al Meer
who previously served as Vice President Engineering and Construction at United Development Company, has worked in progressively important management roles at leading Qatari organizations, including in his most recent role as senior Vice President at Hamad International Airport as well as Senior Vice President at Qatar Airways.

was established in 1999 and listed on the Qatar Exchange in June 2003.
Companies under its umbrella include United Fashion Company, Ronautica Middle East and Hospitality Development Company. Companies most recently established under the umbrella of United Development Company include Madinainova, United Facilities Management Company and The Pearl Owners Corporation.
